Monthly Worship Song: Sing, Sing, Sing!
This week In Preschool & Lower
Elementary...
CNX Kids learned: ” The Bible is better than gold!”
On Sunday, we continued our Pirate Adventure of learning
that the Bible is better than gold.
This week, preschoolers and lower elementary
students read Jeremiah 31:3 and learned that God’s love for us is
SOOOOOOO strong that He loves us ALL the time! Whether we’re
happy, sad, mad, sleepy, laughing, crying, when we do something good, and when we
do something bad. God loves us ALL the time! That’s some strong love and
WAY better than gold!
To remember their lesson,
preschoolers and lower elementary students made watches to wear to remind them
that no matter what time of the day it is, no matter where they are, God Loves
them ALL the time!
This week in upper elementary…
CNX Kids learned: God wants us to look UP and spend time with Him.
Today in CNX Kids we learned that Jesus had a
relationship with His Father God and a special group of people who were His
best friends, the disciples.
But Jesus didn’t just come to earth to
reach up and be friends with God. And He didn’t just come to reach in
to His best friends. He also came to reach out to people like Zacchaeus who
were different or left out or forgotten. He came to reach out to people who
were lost and didn’t
know how to be friends with God. Jesus said He came to look for people like
that and reach out and save them with God’s love.
The best part is that He invites us to do the same
thing!
Hey Parents,
Want to explore this week’s lesson with your child at home?
Here’s how!!
Preschool + Lower Elementary:
Review the weekly Bible story by reading
it together
The Bible tells me God loves me all the time. -Jeremiah
31:3
Help your children live out this week’s Bible verse by finding examples of it in their own lives and
yours.
“Your teachings are worth more to me than thousands
of pieces of gold and silver.” Psalm 119:72, NCV
Try out the following activity:
Sing the following tune with your child while
giving him a bath.
(Sing to the tune of “Farmer in the Dell.”)
“God loves me all the time. God loves me all the time. Even when I get in
trouble, God loves me all the time.”
Set aside time throughout the week to
pray together:
“Dear God, thank You for giving us Your words in
the Bible that tell us that You love us all the time! Help us to see that the Bible is better
than gold! That’s
amazing! Teach us to love the Bible and do what it says. You are so good, God,
and we love You very much. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Upper Elementary School:
Encourage your child to explain to you
how they have learned ways that: Jesus wants us to reach out and share God’s love.
Review the weekly Bible story by reading
it together:
Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10)
Help your children live out this week’s Bible verse by finding examples of it in their own lives and
yours.
For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was
lost. —
Luke 19:10
Try out the following activity:
Take one step this week to reach out as a family to
someone who doesn’t
know God. Don’t
make them your project. Just simply serve them and love them. Maybe you could
invite another family over for dinner or go serve an elderly neighbor. Whatever
you do, make sure you pray about it together beforehand and spend some time
debriefing afterward to learn how God used you to show His love to others.
Have a Dinnertime Discussion!
At dinnertime this week, ask one of these questions
to get your family talking.
- Have you ever felt left out before?
- Who do you know who is kind of an outsider at work or school?
- Who do you know who isn’t yet friends with God?
- What are some ways you can show God’s love to people who don’t know Him?
Use these questions to help kids think about how
they can reach out to people who are lonely or hurting and show them God’s
love. Help them to understand that God always wants us to reach out to help
people see that He loves them and wants them to be a part of His family.
Set aside time throughout the week to
pray together:
God, thank You for reaching out to us with your
love. Thank You for inviting us to join your family, your team. Please show us
people on the outside who need us to show them Your love this week.
Amen
